Multi-Family
In 2005, Artery accurately sensed the approaching peak of the multi-family commercial real estate market and made a strategic decision to begin marketing its apartment portfolio. Over the subsequent 18 month period, fifteen properties were sold for an aggregate sales proceeds in excess of $550 million. Throughout its history, Artery has exhibited remarkable prescience regarding the multi-family market.
Artery was a prolific multi-family developer in the 1970’s and 1980’s, taking advantage of numerous HUD initiatives designed to stimulate the production of affordable housing. In the 1990’s, as real estate investment trusts became a dominant force in the industry, Artery took advantage of the REIT market’s voracious appetite for product and “up-reited” a number of its properties to Equity Residential in exchange for membership units.

Commercial Office Development
Artery Plaza is Bethesda, Maryland’s premier landmark building, developed by Artery and serving as the firm’s corporate
headquarters. The design of the 282,000 square foot building
is a testament to the company’s commitment to quality and excellence. Upon its completion, Artery Plaza was named ‘Most Outstanding New Office Building’ by Montgomery County and received the Maryland AIA award for architecture.
In 2005, Artery Acquired an eleven building office park located at the intersection of I-70 and I-270 in Frederick, Maryland. Renamed, Fredrick Corporate Park, this property has received numerous upgrades and capital improvements. Representative tenants include the Veterans Administration, General Dynamics and Taylor Printing. |
Hotel
The Homewood Suites by Hilton, a four-story, 150-unit extended stay hotel, is located within the Columbia Restaurant Park at the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Maryland Routes 108 and 175 in Columbia, Maryland within Metropolitan Baltimore. Situated on nearly four acres, the hotel has a lodge, which includes a food service area and meeting rooms, and two guest suite buildings. The construction of the property started in 2001 and the hotel opened in November 2003. |
